Corrections policy
If after publication we find a substantive error or a change that may affect the meaning or conclusion of a text, we correct it. We do not keep a public record of minor stylistic edits.
Each material correction states what changed and why. The original publication date remains separate from the update date.
Material corrections
- The retirement age is rising. What does that mean for a body with a different plan?
The exception for earlier retirement in selected category-4 risk work, including the 2,200-shift condition, was added and synchronized to Deep and EN/DE.
- Three licenses, three prices of error. A benchmark is not a signature.
The definition of legal services was aligned with Section 1(2) of the Advocacy Act, the claim about case age in the legal hallucination study was corrected, a typo was fixed and HTML provenance was synchronized; EN/DE were copyedited.
- Purchase money received is not operational cover
The court sequence in the Příbram case was clarified: the District Court ruled in October 2020, while the Regional Court in Prague issued the final judgment after appeal on 3 February 2021; the official GIBS annual report was added.
- "Up to five years threatened" is not the correct punishment. The condition is not a waiver.
The court sequence in the Příbram case was clarified: the District Court ruled in October 2020, while the Regional Court in Prague issued the final judgment after appeal on 3 February 2021; the official GIBS annual report was added.
- Czechia with Fewer Children, but Not Necessarily Fewer People: The Role of Migration
The headline was calibrated: demographic change means fewer children, not literally a Czechia without children.
- You Have Insurance. You May Not Have a Dentist. Your Postcode Shapes Access to Care
The Czech headline now presents postcode as one factor in access to care rather than its sole cause.
- One Patient. But Illness Can Change the Life of an Entire Family
The headline and opening now distinguish a possible family impact from a universal claim about every family.
- History Is Not Written Only by the Victors. It Is Also Shaped by What Survived.
The headline and unsupported superlatives were calibrated to distinguish the influence of victors from the selection effect of surviving sources.
- The City Is Not a Backdrop. Its Design Influences How We Behave.
The headline was changed from an absolute claim to a more precise account of how urban design influences behaviour.
- When the search for someone to blame outruns the search for causes
An unsupported quotation attribution was removed, psychological claims were calibrated, and individual accountability was separated from systemic causal analysis.
- What prison can do to a person — and what the evidence cannot tell us
Absolute claims about the loss of autonomy and the psychological effects of prison were replaced with a calibrated account of heterogeneous, mostly observational evidence.
- An Authentic Recording, a Wrong Conclusion
The model scenario was labelled in advance; the neuroscience wording, checklist count and calibration of conclusions were corrected.
- When postpartum psychosis disrupts the perception of reality
Unsupported single-cause neuroscience was removed and medical, moral and legal frameworks were separated.
- Numbers do not lie. But they can tell a very different story
The item count, the model’s time-bound conclusion and the mean-income example were corrected.
